Welcome to My Website I am Known As Lummy I have been a professional Dj and musician all my working life & i come from a professional musical background.Parents & Relatives. & have been working fully since 1961 i spent 2 years from 1959 semi pro while gaining a trade in hairdressing born in london family moved to Bournemouth then to Poole Dorset . My instrument is Bass guitar but started on the upright bass my instrument at school was the Trombone but loved the bass still do. Prior Coming to jersey i worked with local groups and trio's Joined local band Systems go first trip to USA basses in Germany on returning was invited to join Recording artists the Dowland Brother's in there backing group the Soundtracks with my good friend Gordon Haskel on lead guitar after my contract finished i did stand in work. I re joined Systems go and went back to the Us basses in Germany threw 1966 returning march 1967 joined Peoples People.
May 1967 I came to Jersey With the group Peoples Peoples /Bob frampton/Rob Whitbread /Colin /Alner/ Graham Lumb/ Lummy/& fell in love with Jersey after 6 years on the road with various bands and a long spells in Germany Us forces bases & up & down the motorways we were resident at the Tropicana on the five mile road Two great years A new band came about Friday the 13th and worked at the Baltab St ouen and the Deep Forum cinema 1969 wow time fly's
1970 to 71 i was at the Demi de Pas hotel and worked with a great musician Pete Balcome That's where i started my Djing Thanks Dj Grumpold first set of turntables and a box of discs different.
I met up with Dave Cabaldu & formed Magic Highway and got the Residency with Kaleidoscope events at the Plaza Wests centre 1971 great time was had by all.
At the end of our contract Dave & myself continued as a Duo & Dj and while we were playing at Thackeray's Christmas 1971 i was offered the Residency as house Dj and spent 8 years there with a break of one year in South Africa holiday Inns function Dj returning to Jersey and Thackeray's, till 1980 joining Marina holidays In Roumania Dj & entertainments .for the summer returning to Jersey.
I then had 3 years in Years in Corfu We took the name Raffles to Corfu before returning to Jersey. In 1985 to a new club Harpoon Louis Then moved to The Bistro premiere (Norma Jeans).
I left Djing to set up Jerseys First Karaoke on the road with leisure & pleasure but left & set my own company up LUMMYS and was also playing live with Lee Wright in a duo. Stoney Brooke was formed by Lee Dave Knight came in on Drums & myself on bass but still included Djing & Karaokei Finished Karaoke in 2006 but kept the Dj side.I work now with Run 4 Cover whenever possible.
